Photo Blog: Cosmpolitianism

A while ago, I attended the Kapa Haka group where we all sung and danced to Maori songs. The group came from different various backgrounds such as: Korea, Denmark, Norway, United States, China, etc. This represents cosmopolitanism because it shows how open we are to the endless possibilities of culture and race, gender, and opening yourself up to the world instead of closing yourself to only one particular kinds of people. From this experience I was able to sing some Maori songs. However I would wish I knew the interpretations or meaning of the songs. So that I can know what I was singing about. It was this next step to really induldge into Maori culture and New Zealand culture.
